“MidWit” is a term mocking the person of average intelligence who believes they are among the intellectual elite. The MidWit meme tends to pop up quite a bit in the world of finance & economics (inert smiley, winky face emoji here).
Simple solutions are often the best. See past posts on K.I.S.S..
Occam's Razor suggests the most obvious explanation is most likely the correct explanation.
We assume that a complex solution is likely to be the product of a more ego-boosting, sophisticated, & nuanced line of reasoning than a simple solution. Take a step back and make sure you are evaluating the simple explanation. It is most likely correct.
Memes are extremely powerful forms of communication
