It is amazing how beneficial it is to consistently create for your community. This can take the form of writing, podcasting, making videos, putting together events; really anything that benefits a community of which you want to be a part.
I started writing the “Alternative Data Weekly” on a whim. I simply made a couple of notes on the articles I was already reading & the podcasts I was already listening to, then shared my thoughts with my network via email. I’ve now done this every Friday for four years. Many others have done the same thing and gotten bored or just lost momentum. My list has grown and almost daily I have people reaching out to me for various reasons. It’s been pretty cool.
Find a niche you like, find an angle that creates value, share with friends, and do this consistently over a long period of time…ditching what doesn’t work and doing more of what does work.
You will learn.
You will refine your own thoughts.
You can build a community (as a leader and a member).
You will build your own personal brand.
You will become a magnet for like-minded people.
Your influence and relevance will grow.
